Seaholm Art Wall
A significant part of the overall Seaholm District Master Plan is the design of the Seaholm Substation Art Wall. This wall is an artistic approach to the downtown infrastructure. The City of Austin is excited to incorporate the presence of art and culture within the district, setting a standard in public art on a national level.
While there is an artistic approach, the structure is also being built for safety. Transwestern Development Co. recently announced their plan to develop a mixed-use project on a 4.2-acre site at the intersection of E. 6th St. and Comal. Formerly the Arnold Oil Co. site, the land will now be occupied by two buildings cumulatively totaling 446,000 SF.
Expected to be completed by January 2016, the first building will be composed of 94,500 SF of Class A office space. Houston-based Kirksey Architecture exclusively designed the office building.

The company projected a total capital investment of $13 million it its new Research & Development (R&D) Center, a 110,000 SF facility in the former Seaholm Power Plant.
