Trailer Food Tuesdays

Several Austin food trucks plan to take part in Trailer Food Tuesdays which will roll into the Long Center for the Performing Arts at the end of the month.

Starting July 31, and taking place the last Tuesday of every month up to November, 10 food trucks will park on the city terrace fronting the Long Center in the evenings, bringing with them family-friendly entertainment and music.

The series is a collaboration of between the Long Center, "Trailer Food Diaries Cookbook" author Tiffany Harelik, Eric Silverstein from The Peached Tortilla food truck and Kristen Stacy from The Seedling Truck.

Trucks confirmed for July 31 are The Peached Tortilla, Yumé Burger, The Seedling Truck, Dock & Roll, Chi’lantro, The Flying Carpet, Be More Pacific, Coolhaus, Hey Cupcake and The Evil Wiener.

The monthly gatherings may be a good opportunity for some mobile food vendors to get business because of the shortage of sites for food trailers in Central Austin.

One of Chi’lantro’s trailers was displaced from Second Street and Congress Avenue in June to make way for construction on the planned JW Marriott Hotel.
