Taste of Mexico


Taste of Mexico returns on May 3rd to celebrate the artistry and culinary arts of Austin and Mexico. This culturally conscious and historical celebration of Cinco de Mayo invites guests to generously sample creative cuisines from over 50 of Austin’s most eclectic and exciting restaurants, food trucks, and beverage purveyors. Alongside fine tequilas and mezcales, Taste of Mexico offers regional specialties and contemporary fusions that trace the lineages of a cuisine that boasts continental flavor and international flare. 

Pecan Street Festival

E 6th Street | May 6-7

The 40th Annual Spring Pecan Fest will be held on May 6th & 7th, 2017. Featuring over 300 artisan vendors, food concessions, 3 stages of live music, carnival rides for the kiddos, and much more. The Fest is free admission and open to the public! 

iHeart Country Festival 2017

Frank Erwin Center | May 6 @ 7PM - 11PM

Country music's biggest superstars will perform at the Frank Erwin Center in a live celebration of all things country. The country music of the iHeartRadio app will come to life with an extraordinary lineup including Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Rascal Flatts, Little Big Town, Old Dominion, Dierks Bentley, Kelsea Ballerini, Brantley Gilbert, Jake Owen, Darius Rucker, and Bobby Bones and the Raging Idiots with more to be announced.

10th Annual Farm to Plate

Barr Mansion | May 10 @ 6PM

Chefs from 30 of Austin’s most acclaimed restaurants will prepare and treat more than 600 guests to tastes of their culinary creations at Sustainable Food Center’s 10th annual Farm to Plate. The annual benefit focuses exclusively on serving local food and beverages and showcasing the sustainable farm and ranch offerings of Central Texas.

Food Truck Friday

912 E 11th St, Ste A | May 12 @ 11AM - 8PM

In it's second year, Food Truck Friday serves as a platform to promote diversity within Austin's growing mobile food industry.Food trucks will roll onto the grounds located next to the African American Cultural Heritage Facility and prepare their best works to be named the 2017 GABC Food Truck Friday Champion. In addition to delicious bites, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about GABC and tour an artist exhibition in the Historic Dedrick-Hamilton House. 

Fit Foodie Festival & 5K

For all the fit and fun Austinites: Cooking Light & Health brings a 5K to Austin with healthy bites at each mile, tasting stations, and cash reward for top race finishers. John Hancock Vitality Village Food and Fitness Festival post-race has bites from local restaurants, a beer and wine garden, mini-workout classes, and cooking demonstrations-what a fun way to spend a race day!
