Lara Burns has contributed a wealth of operational, project management and financial expertise to the Urbanspace team for over ten years. Currently serving as Urbanspace’s Chief Operating Officer, Lara provides operational and financial leadership and support to the real estate and interior design activities across the business, interacting with internal and external stakeholders daily.
Lara’s evolution with Urbanspace has mirrored the evolution of the organization, and accordingly, the evolution of downtown. Lara contributes the knowledge and historical detail of this transformation to the myriad of external organizations in which she also holds a leadership position. She currently serves on the board of the Real Estate Council of Austin’s (RECA), and the Urban Land Institutes Women’s Leadership Initiative Steering Committee.
Lara has also an active member of the philanthropic community in Austin and has served on a multitude of boards and committees over the years. She is currently Co-Chairing the Celebration of Life Luncheon benefitting the Seton Breast Care Center.
Originally from Charleston, West Virginia, Lara was raised in the Clear Lake area outside of Houston and moved to Austin to attend the University of Texas where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Economics.
Lara and her husband are downtown residents.
