The latest addition to the Urbanspace Interiors team, Lauren Madden is a detail-oriented interior designer with a diverse educational and career background spanning interior design, international business, event planning, and marketing. Lauren strives to create spaces that fulfill her clients every day. Understanding her clients’ needs, wants, styles, way of living, etc. is essential to her design process, which she believes should be as effortless as possible for the client.
Raised in small town central Texas, with brief stints in New York, Dallas and Houston, Lauren has claimed Austin as her adopted hometown. Here she attended both the University of Texas McCombs School of Business as well as the Art Institute of Austin, where she obtained her BBA (major in marketing, minor in international business) and BFA (major in interior design) respectively.
As a tried and true logistics queen learned through years of event and design project management, Lauren’s strengths include attention to detail, strong organizational and management skills, and effective client and vendor communication. Her time in the fashion industry — retail buying for Saks Fifth Avenue (NYC) and Neiman Marcus (Dallas) — has also influenced her design aesthetic. An allied member of ASID, Lauren has also been involved both professionally and personally with Dell Children’s Hospital.
Sometimes referred to by her colleagues as a human design encyclopedia for her quick recall of design history and theory, Lauren has also earned the nickname “Hermione” for always being overly prepared with extra supplies on hand at all times. Although a bit of a workaholic, in her spare time Lauren can be found on Town Lake, going to a concert or movie, or eating out with friends. She enjoys playing tennis and golf, or working in the yard and doing projects around the house. Lauren is a proud resident of Northwest Hills.
