Elaine Nelke
ASSISTANT CONTROLLER
Elaine Nelke brings a global perspective and a passion for
precision to her dual roles as Assistant Controller and licensed REALTOR® at
Urbanspace Real Estate + Interiors. Elaine’s early years were shaped by an
international upbringing in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and England, where she became
fluent in English, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Ke Jia Hua. She later moved to the
United States to earn her dual-degree from the University of Georgia’s Terry
College of Business—proudly cheering “Go, Dawgs!”—before launching a dynamic
career that blends finance, problem-solving, and real estate expertise.
Elaine’s professional journey began at an investment bank,
where she discovered her knack for numbers and forensic accounting while
performing financial analytics. She later co-founded a successful accounting
firm, growing it to serve dozens of clients by developing innovative tools and
processes that streamlined reporting, improved accuracy, and uncovered issues
swiftly—skills she now applies to elevate Urbanspace’s financial operations.
Drawing on her international experience and family-inspired real estate
insight, Elaine earned her real estate license, combining her analytical
prowess with exceptional people skills to guide clients and colleagues alike
through complex transactions and business challenges.
As Assistant Controller, Elaine keeps Urbanspace’s financial
operations humming, leveraging her sharp problem-solving skills to boost
efficiency and clarity. After graduating from the University of Georgia, she
and her husband, Robbie, settled in Austin, a city they’ve called home through
multiple relocations—always drawn back by its vibrant spirit. Now rooted in the
Cimarron, Santa Rita neighborhood just outside Georgetown, TX, they’re active
members of Cimarron Country Club, where their three children shine in golf,
tennis, and swimming. Elaine unwinds by playing the piano, cheering at hockey
games, or traveling with her family—whether taking her kids to the Masters or
savoring poke in Hawaii. Her fondest memory remains putting on hole 10 at sunset
on the Ponte Vedra Golf Course with her loved ones, a testament to her knack
for finding harmony in both work and life.
