Polar Bear Splash 2018
Barton Springs Pool January 1st, 2018

The Polar Bear Splash is held annually on New Year’s Day at Barton Springs Pool. At the event, group costumes and plunges into the inviting 68 degree water are highly encouraged. T-shirts will be for sale and free coffee and donuts will be provided on a first come, first serve basis. So, bring out your friends and family to swim, shiver and plunge into the new year! Also when posting your plunge photo, remember to include #atxpolarbearsplash2018 in your caption.
Children’s Book Fair
Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center
January 6th, 2018 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
The Wildflower Center will host the 2018 Austin’s Children Book Fair. Come out to enjoy story time with your favorite characters and children authors, or to discover great books to take home! Book donations will also be accepted at the event, and collected throughout the weekend, for the Recycled Reads Program at the Austin Public Library.
