Austin Marathon – Half Marathon & 5K 

February 17th, 2019 | 7 am  

Runners get a chance to run through green, tree-lined city parks, cross bridges over the Colorado River, and trek through Austin’s city streets and neighborhoods at the Austin Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K, which saw more than 8,100 runners cross the finish line at the 2016 running of the race in the half-marathon alone out of more than 12,000 in all races combined.

 


Unmasked Gala

BowiElvis Fest

BowiElvis Fest officially 10 years old. It is a party thrown by Splice Records which is happens twice a year in two different cities. On January 5th the Houston festival will be held at the legendary Continental Club & Big Top. And for the third year in a row we are taking the show on the road and setting up shop in Austin, Texas which will be the second weekend on January 12th at the other legendary Continental Club on S. Migrations: A Dance Festival

3M Half Marathon Relay

This year join over 7,000 fellow runners in Austin, Texas to run a personal best at the 3M Half Marathon. 3M Half is a fun and fast stand-alone half marathon boasting one of the fastest half marathon courses in the country. MLK Celebration

March, Festival, and Food Drive. The Annual Community March celebrates Dr. Martin Luther King’s legacy while uplifting diversity and multi-culturalism in our city. The MLK Community March kicks off on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 9 a.m.with a short program at the MLK Statue on the University of Texas campus. MLK COMMUNITY FESTIVAL The MLK Community Festival kicks off at 11:15am and will last until 3:30 p.m.; it will include all types of vendors and local musical artists to make this year’s celebration the best ever!

Big 12 Championship Game

It’s going to be weird, isn’t it? Watching Texas helmets and Oklahoma helmets intermingling somewhere other than the Cotton Bowl? While AT&T Stadium in Arlington, home of Saturday’s Big 12 Championship, is only about 22 miles west, the last time the Sooners and Longhorns took each other on in a city other than Dallas was 95 years ago, in 1923. (Texas won, 26-14, in Austin.)

 

 

 


 

Lakeway Trail of Lights

Trail of Lights

The AUSTIN TRAIL OF LIGHTS is Austin’s largest holiday tradition and 2nd largest event in the city. Run by the Trail of Lights Foundation, the annual event in Zilker Park celebrates the unique spirit and people that make Austin the place we love to call home. The Austin Trail of Lights is a community event that invites 400,000 people every year to come celebrate the holidays in the heart of Austin, Texas during the month of December. The event showcases everything that we love about Austin—from music and food to creativity and family fun. Thanks to the Trail of Lights Foundation, we are able to keep it free for at least ½ of the nights to make sure that anyone who wants to be part of the experience has a way to do so.

Austin City Limits Music Festival

One of the country’s largest celebrations of music, this six-day festival brings the magic of the famed public TV series Austin City Limits outside the studio and into Austin’s most beloved park with more than 140 musical acts on eight stages over two weekends. This year’s headliners include Paul McCartney, Odesza, Metallica, Travis Scott, Justice, and Arctic Monkeys.

 

 

 


 

UT vs Oklahoma Sooners

October 6th | 11:00 am 

More than 100,000 people travel to the State Fair for the AT&T Red River Showdown game between the Texas Longhorns and the Oklahoma Sooners. The game, played in Cotton Bowl Stadium since 1929, is an iconic staple of the State Fair.

Game tickets are purchased through each university’s athletic office. A ticket to the 2018 Red River Showdown includes admission to the State Fair of Texas on game day – Saturday, October 6, 2018.

 

 


 

Banger’s Oktoberfest

Banger’s Sausage House & Beer
October 18th – October 20th 

Enjoy German influenced food, beer, and live music followed by Banger’s Big Brass Band Brunch on Sunday, October 21st. They will be serving bierwurst, spaetzle, schnitzel, weisswurst, and German potato cakes. Banger’s version of Oktoberfest games take place daily, open to the public on a first come first-serve basis. Winners of each game will receive a “trophy”, t-shirt, and “Skip the Line” brunch voucher.

This is one of the biggest Oktoberfest celebrations in town, spanning three days (and nights). Eat, drink, dance and play to your heart’s desire at this all-out party on Rainey Street.

 

 


 

FORMULA 1 United States Grand Prix

The pinnacle of motorsports is returning to Texas for a three-day celebration of speed and sound! In the midst of a competitive and unpredictable season, the FORMULA 1 PIRELLI 2018 United States Grand Prix arrives at COTA this October with major championship implications. International drivers will be in Austin this October to compete in the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of The Americas track. This event promises three days of racing, camping, live music events and more – including headlining performances by Bruno Mars and Britney Spears for ticket holders.

 

 


 

LIVESTRONG Challenge

Join riders from around the country for the 2018 LIVESTRONG Challenge on October 21st ,2018! Chose from our 20, 45, 65, or 100-mile bike routes through beautiful Texas hill country. We are also proud to offer a 1-mile fun run for participants and supporters of all abilities. After the ride or run, participants and spectators are invited to the post-event party in the Challenge Village where you will find delicious local food and beer, music, vendors and a fun time for all ages.

 

 


 

Austin Margarita Festival

Recognized as one of the top film festivals in the country, this cinematic event shines the spotlight on both top-billed films and indies alike. The full lineup for the 25th annual Austin Film Festival has been revealed, and it includes Steve McQueen and Gillian Flynn’s action thriller, Widows, and Peter Farrelly’s dramedy, Green Book, starring Mahershala Ali and Viggo Mortensen. 

 

 

 

 


 

Viva La Vida Festival & Parade

Hosted by the Mexic-Arte Museum, Viva La Vida is Austin’s largest and longest-running Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) festival, and one of the few in the country with a parade.The festival features a Grand Procession, hands-on art activities and artist demos, and a celebration with traditional foods, local artist and retail booths, a low-rider exhibition, live music and performances throughout the day.

The Zilker Relays is a 10-mile race with teams comprised of 4 runners, with a festival after the race. Each runner gets to experience Austin’s unique atmosphere 2.5 miles at a time. Enjoy live music and great food while running with your favorite family and friends. You don’t have to train like a marathoner for this one. All you have to do is be willing to run/jog/walk/stroll 2.5 miles, enjoy live music and great food and get 3 of your siblings/kids/buddies/colleagues to come join you for this one of a kind running experience.

 

 

 

 

 


 

Waterloo Music Festival

Waterloo is an independent festival that celebrates the roots of Austin music culture, and will feature three full days of nationally renowned jam bands performing alongside the city’s finest musical acts during a weekend of camping. The event will be held at Carson Creek Ranch, a venue just ten minutes from downtown Austin with over 60 acres of Pecan-tree-lined campgrounds and scenic views overlooking the Colorado River.

The biggest game of the season is upon us! Last season’s double overtime thriller ending with a USC win has the Horns ready for a fight. The PBR’s 2017 Built Ford Tough Series will make its first-ever stop in Austin for the Wrangler Long Live Cowboys Classic, presented by Frontier Communications. As the world’s top cowboys go ride for ride against the rankest bulls around.
