The Annual Austin Boat and Travel Trailer Show is back at the Austin Convention Center Jan 4-6. This show offers the year’s best prices on boats and travel trailers as well as plenty to do with the whole family. Take in a free seminar, send your kinds to Boater Education Class, catch live fish at the fish tank, or enjoy the live music schedule this year. The show has something for everyone all while saving $1000s on your new boat or RV.


BowiElvis Fest 

The Continental Club Austin | 1315 S Congress Ave.|  January 12th, 2019    

BowiElvis Fest officially 10 years old. It is a party thrown by Splice Records which is happens twice a year in two different cities. On January 5th the Houston festival will be held at the legendary Continental Club & Big Top. And for the third year in a row we are taking the show on the road and setting up shop in Austin, Texas which will be the second weekend on January 12th at the other legendary Continental Club on S. Congress.

Migrations: A Dance Festival

Migrations is an annual dance festival in Austin, Texas in January 2019, presented by the Austin Tribal Collective. Migrations will host instructors offering workshops in a wide range of dance and musical styles from around the world! The Swoon Event

3M Half Marathon Relay

This year join over 7,000 fellow runners in Austin, Texas to run a personal best at the 3M Half Marathon. 3M Half is a fun and fast stand-alone half marathon boasting one of the fastest half marathon courses in the country. You’ll enjoy a point-to-point course with mostly downhill running that takes you past some of Austin’s finest locations and finishes downtown near the Texas State Capitol. Cross the finish line, grab your hefty one-of-a-kind “spinner” finisher medal, and celebrate at the energetic finish line festival complete with a beer garden!


MLK Celebration

March, Festival, and Food Drive. The Annual Community March celebrates Dr. Martin Luther King’s legacy while uplifting diversity and multi-culturalism in our city. The MLK Community March kicks off on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 9 a.m.with a short program at the MLK Statue on the University of Texas campus. MLK COMMUNITY FESTIVAL The MLK Community Festival kicks off at 11:15am and will last until 3:30 p.m.; it will include all types of vendors and local musical artists to make this year’s celebration the best ever!

Big 12 Championship Game

It’s going to be weird, isn’t it? Watching Texas helmets and Oklahoma helmets intermingling somewhere other than the Cotton Bowl? While AT&T Stadium in Arlington, home of Saturday’s Big 12 Championship, is only about 22 miles west, the last time the Sooners and Longhorns took each other on in a city other than Dallas was 95 years ago, in 1923. (Texas won, 26-14, in Austin.)





Lakeway Trail of Lights

One of Lakeway’s most cherished traditions is the Trail of Lights! Come see thousands of twinkling lights!  See amusing tableaus, all accompanied by delightful seasonal music! Trail of Lights

The AUSTIN TRAIL OF LIGHTS is Austin’s largest holiday tradition and 2nd largest event in the city. Run by the Trail of Lights Foundation, the annual event in Zilker Park celebrates the unique spirit and people that make Austin the place we love to call home. The Austin Trail of Lights is a community event that invites 400,000 people every year to come celebrate the holidays in the heart of Austin, Texas during the month of December. The event showcases everything that we love about Austin—from music and food to creativity and family fun. Thanks to the Trail of Lights Foundation, we are able to keep it free for at least ½ of the nights to make sure that anyone who wants to be part of the experience has a way to do so.

Austin City Limits Music Festival

One of the country’s largest celebrations of music, this six-day festival brings the magic of the famed public TV series Austin City Limits outside the studio and into Austin’s most beloved park with more than 140 musical acts on eight stages over two weekends. This year’s headliners include Paul McCartney, Odesza, Metallica, Travis Scott, Justice, and Arctic Monkeys.





UT vs Oklahoma Sooners

October 6th | 11:00 am 

More than 100,000 people travel to the State Fair for the AT&T Red River Showdown game between the Texas Longhorns and the Oklahoma Sooners. The game, played in Cotton Bowl Stadium since 1929, is an iconic staple of the State Fair.

Game tickets are purchased through each university’s athletic office. A ticket to the 2018 Red River Showdown includes admission to the State Fair of Texas on game day – Saturday, October 6, 2018.




Banger’s Oktoberfest

Enjoy German influenced food, beer, and live music followed by Banger’s Big Brass Band Brunch on Sunday, October 21st. They will be serving bierwurst, spaetzle, schnitzel, weisswurst, and German potato cakes. Banger’s version of Oktoberfest games take place daily, open to the public on a first come first-serve basis. Winners of each game will receive a “trophy”, t-shirt, and “Skip the Line” brunch voucher.

This is one of the biggest Oktoberfest celebrations in town, spanning three days (and nights). Eat, drink, dance and play to your heart’s desire at this all-out party on Rainey Street.




FORMULA 1 United States Grand Prix

The pinnacle of motorsports is returning to Texas for a three-day celebration of speed and sound! In the midst of a competitive and unpredictable season, the FORMULA 1 PIRELLI 2018 United States Grand Prix arrives at COTA this October with major championship implications. International drivers will be in Austin this October to compete in the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of The Americas track. This event promises three days of racing, camping, live music events and more – including headlining performances by Bruno Mars and Britney Spears for ticket holders.

Join riders from around the country for the 2018 LIVESTRONG Challenge on October 21st ,2018! Chose from our 20, 45, 65, or 100-mile bike routes through beautiful Texas hill country. After the ride or run, participants and spectators are invited to the post-event party in the Challenge Village where you will find delicious local food and beer, music, vendors and a fun time for all ages.

Recognized as one of the top film festivals in the country, this cinematic event shines the spotlight on both top-billed films and indies alike. The full lineup for the 25th annual Austin Film Festival has been revealed, and it includes Steve McQueen and Gillian Flynn’s action thriller, Widows, and Peter Farrelly’s dramedy, Green Book, starring Mahershala Ali and Viggo Mortensen. 






Viva La Vida Festival & Parade

Hosted by the Mexic-Arte Museum, Viva La Vida is Austin’s largest and longest-running Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) festival, and one of the few in the country with a parade.The festival features a Grand Procession, hands-on art activities and artist demos, and a celebration with traditional foods, local artist and retail booths, a low-rider exhibition, live music and performances throughout the day.

The Zilker Relays is a 10-mile race with teams comprised of 4 runners, with a festival after the race. Each runner gets to experience Austin’s unique atmosphere 2.5 miles at a time. Enjoy live music and great food while running with your favorite family and friends. You don’t have to train like a marathoner for this one. All you have to do is be willing to run/jog/walk/stroll 2.5 miles, enjoy live music and great food and get 3 of your siblings/kids/buddies/colleagues to come join you for this one of a kind running experience.







Waterloo Music Festival

Waterloo is an independent festival that celebrates the roots of Austin music culture, and will feature three full days of nationally renowned jam bands performing alongside the city’s finest musical acts during a weekend of camping. The event will be held at Carson Creek Ranch, a venue just ten minutes from downtown Austin with over 60 acres of Pecan-tree-lined campgrounds and scenic views overlooking the Colorado River.

At 11:00 a.m. sharp, organizers will release 20,000 eco-friendly ducks from the Congress Avenue Bridge into Lady Bird Lake and race them. The festival and race are free to attend, but if you’d like to adopt a duck, they’re available on the event website! The top-finishing ducks will win awesome prizes, and all proceeds from the event go to the Austin Boys and Girls club! After the duck race, be sure to hit up the festival for lots of fun, food, games and more!

The Spring 2018 Pecan Street Festival is celebrating its 41st year! This event is one of the largest, and longest-running, arts, crafts and music festivals in the nation. Since 2006, the Pecan Street Festival has been presented by Pecan Street Association and produced by Special Events Live bi-annually.
The Pecan Street Association was founded to preserve the Sixth Street Historic District. In 1977 when the downtown area was scarcely populated with abandoned buildings, this organization was instrumental in reclaiming the space and beginning renovations. All proceeds from the festival are used for the Historic District’s beautification, education and promotional activities, as well as for supporting the community through financial contributions given to charities that serve the Austin region.

The Lonestar Rod & Kustom Round Up

This year, the 17th annual Lonestar Round Up will be held on the rolling grounds of the Travis County Expo Center. Each year, vintage hot rods and custom cars drive to Austin from across the country to attend this outdoor car show and live music festival.
In 2002, the Round Up was created to recognize the people who build and drive hot rods and custom cars, as well as those who can’t get enough of the music, art, history and creativity that’s inspired by and created around car shows. The event features a giant swap meet, multiple vendors, cruise nights, the best in live music, open house parties and many BBQs. Be sure to bring out the whole family this hot rod season to come celebrate the art and enjoy a home-grown, Texas-sized experience!




HONK! TX Festival

HONK! TX is a nonprofit, community-driven festival that features street and brass bands from around the country. This free event is known for dissolving the barrier between audiences and performers by transforming Austin’s everyday, public locations into mobile stages.
This year marks the 8th annual Festival; HONK! TX was born in 2011 and inspired by the original HONK! Fest in Somerville, Massachusetts. These acoustic, mobile festivals were created from an idea to celebrate the growing nationwide community of activist marching bands, as well as the desire to create a community-rooted union of art, activism and music for the public to enjoy. Thanks to this vision of a local band, the experiential movement can now be attended around the world!
The festival includes genres of New Orleans second-line brass, Brazilian, Punk, Hip Hop, West African, European Kelzmer & Balkan, plus many more! All performances are free to attend and open to the public. Come out for a unique celebration of music and community that was developed on the basis of collaboration and creative expression.




Tailwaggers presented by Austin Pets Alive!

Every spring Austin Pets Alive! hosts Tailwaggers. This non-gala event raises funds for shelter pets that help to keep Austin the “Largest No Kill City in the United States.” The event consists of a casual cocktail party that will be held at one of Austin’s newest venues, 7Co. The venue will feature elegant lounge areas and seating throughout its indoor counterparts, as well as its outdoor lawn and terrace area.
Tailwaggers earned its name after film-legend Bette Davis’ annual soiree, during the 1930’s and 40’s, that was used to raise funds for the Los Angeles area’s shelter pets. In the Austin area, Austin’s Pets Alive! (APA!) hosts a similar event.
APA! is dedicated to providing resources, education and programs that are necessary for eliminating the killing of companion animals. Since 2008, APA! has saved more than 50,000 dogs and cats from being killed at Central Texas shelters. The animals in this program are supplied with food, shelter, veterinary care, obedience training and a matching system that will introduce them to their forever family.

Austin’s beloved charity event, “Mack, Jack & McConaughey” (MJ&M) is the joint fundraising effort of Academy Award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey, ACM Award-winning recording artist Jack Ingram, and ESPN analyst and Texas coaching legend Mack Brown.
MJ&M was born in 2013 and has raised nearly $7.5 million dollars for charitable youth organizations that strive to empower kids within the community, such as CureDuchenne, Dell Children’s Medical Center, HeartGift, and The Rise School of Austin.
The non-profit two-day event will kick off with a gala and concert hosted by ACL Live at the Moody Theater. Attendees can expect multiple stage appearances by Mack, Jack & McConaughey, as well as a live, silent auction followed by a headlining concert. The second day of MJ&M includes 2 events: a golf tournament hosted at Spanish Oaks Golf Club, featuring celebrities and talent from across the country, and a fashion show held at the JW Marriott.




The Longhorn Run

The Longhorn Run has become a University tradition known for uniting students, faculty, staff, alumni and the Austin community. The race offers 5K and 10K courses that go through the UT campus and its surrounding areas. On race day, participants get to experience the many UT traditions that are spread out along the course. Then, after finishing the race, a post-race celebration will be held at the steps of the UT Tower.
Each spring semester the Longhorn Run is produced through the combined efforts of the Longhorn Run student committee, The University of Texas at Austin Recreational Sports and Student Government organizations. All proceeds from the race benefit the UT Student Government and Recreational Sports Excellence Funds.

This Spring, the 68th Art City Austin is returning and transforming the Palmer Events Center into an al fresco art block party. Throughout the weekend of the event, the Fine Arts festival will feature large-scale installations for viewing, art activations and performances. Additionally, a preview party will be held on Friday evening with complimentary food and drinks, performances, music, opportunities to participate in the People’s Choice Awards and a reception to welcome Art Alliance Austin’s new executive director. Cap 2K Swim

Cap 2K is the only “downhill swimming race in Texas.” It is an open water 2000+ meter race and pledge swim held on a straightaway course on Lady Bird Lake stretching from Red Bud Isle toward the center of Austin. On top of enjoying a beautiful swim and the 10th Annual Open Water Swimming High School Championships, the event will also feature live music and a post-race picnic.
American Swimming Association hosts this nationally and locally ranked swim, and all proceeds go toward fighting prostate cancer and helping the less fortunate learn to swim.

WGC — Dell Technologies Match Play

The 2018 World Golf Championships (WGC)- Dell Technologies Match Play is coming to the Austin Country Club and being brought with it is 2015’s WGC champion, Rory Mcilroy. With this tournament being one of four WGC events, attendance of all the top 64 players is nearly always a guarantee. Last October, Dell Technologies Match Play raised over $1.1 million for Austin-based charities. Since the tournament’s inception, it has generated more then $17 million in total for charities. Tickets include weekly ground badges that grant access to the Austin Country Club grounds and all public venues, fan activation zones and bleachers. Runners will experience Austin at its best by running along iconic landmarks such as UT Tower, The I Love You Mural and Lady Bird Lake. At the finish line, the runners will be greeted by cheering crowds in front of the Texas State Capitol on historic Congress Ave.
